Daniel Leader - Head Coach 
 
 

 

 

 

 

Coach Leader is the head coach of the Eastside Youth Wrestling Club and has been since 2008.  He wrestled under Coaches Koz, Jones, Coles, and Farahvashi at Eastside where he graduated in 2004.  During his career at Eastside he was a part of two state championship teams and placed at the individual state tournament three times, winning in 2004. 


As the coach of Eastside Youth Wrestling, Coach Leader has won two team state titles. He coached thirteen individuals to state titles and seventeen others to state placement. 


Coach Leader is a graduate of Clemson University.  He is married to his wife Kayla Leader and they reside in Greer.
  

                

 
           
 

 

Coach Ed Coles has a long and storied history at Eastside High School.  Coach Coles led the varsity team before turning the program over to Coach Koz.  He led two teams to the state finals as head coach and led a number of athletes to individual state titles.  Prior to coming to Eastside, he won two team state titles at St. Andrews High School near Charleston. 


After turning the program over to Coach Koz, Coach Coles pioneered AAU wrestling in South Carolina and began the Eastside Youth Wrestling club where he coached countless athletes who went on to win high school state titles.  His son Eddie was a four-time state champion while at Eastside and had over 200 career victories. 


Coach Coles continues to assist with Eastside Youth Wrestling.


In 2009, Coach Coles was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame.  His induction was based on his Lifetime of Service to Wrestling.  


Coach Coles is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and is married to Gee Coles.  He has a daughter, Ellison, and a son Eddie. 

 

 

 

 

Coach Fare Farahvashi has been a part of Eastside Wrestling since the mid-90s and today assists with the Eastside Youth Wrestling Club.  While a part of the varsity program, Coach Farahvashi helped the team reach eight state championships and helped others earn their own individual state titles. 


Coach Farahvashi has also helped numerous athletes associated with Eastside Youth Wrestling.  He has helped a number earn individual state titles or placement in the state tournament and was an important part of the team’s two state titles. 


Coach Farahvashi is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and resides in Greer. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coach Chuck Jones has been an assistant coach at Eastside since the mid-90s.  He is a graduate of North Carolina State University where he lettered in wrestling and majored in engineering. 


As the JV wrestling coach, Coach Jones led a number of individuals to JV state titles and assisted those individuals to varsity state titles.  He has been an integral part of all eight team state championships at Eastside.  Coach Jones is also the only coach to be named JV State Coach of the year twice. 


Coach Jones is also on the Eastside Youth Wrestling Club staff.
